Welcome to the Houston Big Game Fishing Club (HBGFC) website.
The Houston Big Game Fishing Club (HBGFC) was formed in the summer of 2004 and incorporated as a Texas non-profit corporation. The HBGFC is extremely proud that as we begin 2007 the Club has 215 members and over 30 Corporate Partners. In the first full year the HBGFC allocated $60,000 to the College Scholarship Program and raised over $32,000 in Hurricane Relief Funds to help the big game fishing industry recover from 2005’s devastating hurricanes.
HBGFC was formed to promote the pursuit of big game fishing, educate its members and the public, advocate the sport and conservation of big game species and provide social settings for our membership to share their big game fishing passion.  Events
The 2008 season is here and we will have a fantastic array of events for the coming year starting with our annual Awards Banquet on April, 19th, 2008 once again at the fantastic Omni Hotel in Houston. The Houston Invitational Billfish Tournament is slated for June 26 through June 28th leaving from any port in Texas.

We have updated the scoring for 2006 - 2007 for each division. Check them out to see who is in the lead.
 HBGFC Awards
The 2007 scores are in with the Texas division releasing 31 Blue Marlin, 16 Swordfish, 11 Sailfish, 4 White Marlin and 7 Tarpon. The International division released an incredible 637 Sailfish, 60 Blue Marlin, 20 White Marlin, 18 Striped marlin, 9 Black Marlin, 3 Swordfish and 1 Spearfish
 Scholarships
The Houston Big Game Fishing Club Scholarship Trust has been established to provide financial aid to qualified students who plan to attend a Texas University or College. The Board of Directors and Scholarship Committee will award scholarships in annual amounts up to $2,000 for the payment of tuition, campus housing or other university or college charges. Scholarships will be awarded in such amounts and to such students as will be determined at its discretion.
