HBGFC Scholarhips Program

The Houston Big Game Fishing Club has established the HBGFC Scholarship Trust to qualify and administer Scholarship Awards to Texas high school graduates attending a Texas college or university. The board of directors has committed $30,000.00 for our first year of funding and we will be providing up to 15 students with $2,000.00 scholarships. Additional money will be set aside in the Trust for future years. The application process and forms are being finalized and will be available on the web site on or around April 1st. The Scholarship funds have been raised from our generous membership, corporate partners and our banquet fundraising. If you know of a deserving student pass the word and check back to this site for more information. |

1st Annual Member Celebration and Awards Banquet

Invitations are out, trophies and plaques have been ordred and plans are being finalized for the HBGFC's first ever Awards Banquet. The event is April 15 at the Junior League of Houston Building from 7 to 11 pm. We will have a great dinner, open bar, give aways, some excellent raffle items and a small live auction with one of a kind fishing trips, excursions, art and more. Tickets are $75 each or $750 for a table for 10. We expect a full house and hope all members will plan to attend and enjoy the party. Membership Mixer

The first Membership Mixer for 2005 is coming up on February 9th from 6 to8 pm. We are going back to the Cadillac Bar and Grill on Shepherd Drive.
The is no charge and snacks will be provided with a cash bar.
There will be announcements and information about the 2004 Award Winners and changes in the Awards Program for 2005, including the addition of an Outboard Divsion for Top Boat. Also, information about a first annual Club Billfish Tournament and all of HBGC events for the year. Membership Renewals will be available and new members and guests are welcome. |

2005 Awards Program Update

We have updated the site and verifications for the new year, 2005. You may download the verification forms online and check out the new rules, weigh stations, and point system in the awards section of our website.
